Arrival
This is the front of the House, Main Entrance, and Garage. We chose a Wine Red exterior color and it was approved by the Comune di Moltrasio. We mixed the Wine Red exterior color with lighter and darker grey tones for windows and exteriors doors. The small garage was big enough for our electric Microlino including charging station and our Vespa.
The Living and Dining Room
Elegant Interior Design
The Living, Dining and Kitchen area boasts the original Chestnut wooden beams, Traventine floors, and modern furniture blending tradition with luxury. It is large area - the beautiful and cozy center of the house.
Modern Wood Pellet Oven for Coziness
The house has a new hybrid heating and cooling system using quietly operating fan coils either heating or cooling every space. For the cooler season we added a modern MCZ wood pellet oven for a heating boost and extra coziness.
Designer Furniture and Lights
We hand selected every piece of furniture to create a blend of old and new while ensuring maximum comfort. All lights are LED and the light fixtures are from Il Farnale (antique Italian) and modern spot lights from Wever & Ducre.
Kitchen
We love Cooking
We moved the kitchen where there used to be a bedroom. We were allowed to add kitchen window with a beautiful view of the neibouring palazzo and it added much sun light.
Our Kitchen Space
We chose a country kitchen design and then customized it with a Nero Assoluto (fiammato & spazzolato) natural stone top. If you like cooking you need a lot of storage space and many electrical outlets. We have lots of cabinets and a nice kitchen island.
Water System
We added a Blanco sink and Blanco Water and Soda system for cool, sparkling and filtered water. No more dragging of heavy water bottles.
Service Bathroom and Stairs
Service Bathroom
We have 3 bathrooms in the house. This is the service bathroom just a few steps up from the kitchen and dining. All bathrooms feature Villeroy & Boch ceramics with Hans Grohe faucets and assessories.
Original Stairs
The stairs to the upper floor is the original stairs of the house and has natural Pietra de Moltrasio (the local stone used for building Como). We estimate these stone steps being 120-150 years old.
Office / Guestroom and Guest Bathroom
Home Office with Lake View
We mostly work from home and designed a customized desk space for two people out of natural woods and metal. Internet is strong on every level of the house and we also installed a WiFi antenna for the garden and terrace. Work and surf everywhere!
Garden is 3 Steps away
Through these custom French Doors the Garden and Terrace are only three steps away. Adjacent to the Office/Guest Room is the second Guest Bathroom. All interior and exterior doors were custom made by the local door specialist Bragotto.
Guest Bathroom
This beautiful bathroom is in the place where the original kitchen was when we bought the house. All Ceramics are Villeroy & Boch. Shower and Faucets are Hans Grohe. Radiator by Zehnder and Tiles by Lea Ceramiche. Bathroom lights by Astro.
Master Bedroom and Walk-In Closet Area
Master Bedroom
The entire upper floor is covered with light, Italian wood flooring adding warmth to all upper floor rooms. The ceiling shows the original wooden beams and boards painted white for brightness. The bedroom has views over Lake Como and the lovely neighborhood.
Master Bedroom Views
The bedroom has two windows with views over Lake Como and the our neighborhood. The morning sun rises across the Lake above the Torno Mountains and warms up and lights up the Master Bedroom. Another beautiful day in Moltrasio!
Walk-In Closet
The walk-in closet area has two windows with beautiful views and provides a total for 5 meter wide wardrobe space distributed over 3 separate wardrobes. Each wardrobe is 236 cm high providing enough storage for summer and winter clothing.

We enlarged what used to be a small bathroom to create modern Designer Master Bathroom that is a large as a small bedroom. With windows (with integrated blinds) to the Garden and a small window to the neighborhood there is plenty of sunlight all day around. We selected beautiful 60 x 30 cm tiles with matching Mosaic tiles in warm sand color; made by Lea Ceramiche, Modena.
High-End Materials
The Master Bathroom has high-end Ceramics of Villeroy & Boch in mat white. The wash basins are also Villeroy & Boch and are paired with Villeroy & Boch matching cabinets in mat black. Storage and medicine cabinet also by Villeroy & Boch. Water faucets and all assessories such as towel holders by Hans Grohe mat black. Radiator in mat black by Zehnder.
Custom Shower
The shower box measures 100 x 160 cm with frameless custom glass partition and door. The shower is level with the floors (Wedi System) and cladded with Lea Ceramics mosaic tiles. The Shower head and hand shower are by Rainfinity of Hans Grohe. Bathroom LED Lights are special bathrooms lights by Wever & Ducre and Astro.

Moltrasio Borgo
Lovely views of original and renovated houses in the Borgo. The creek runs right by our house and creates soothing water background noise.

This Palazzo next door was recently renovated by the German owners.
Garden
Our Garden - our Sanctuary
We refurbished the Garden and made it a little outdoor paradise: new flagstone cover, better rain water drainage, old and new terracotta pots and planters, a mixture of flowers and evergreens, matching Copper LED light fixtures, Paulmann LED garden lights, garden furniture, SONOS speaker, and a custom, full feature outdoor kitchen.
Relaxing or Partying
Wonderful to relax here: birds chirping, calming murmurs from the creek, no cars noise anywhere close. Or partying and entertaining with help of the SONOS sound, food sizzling on the Broil King Regal gas BBQ, and occasionally reaching into the "loaded" fridge. We created a larger planter for the center piece Olive tree.
Custom Outdoor Kitchen
We designed and build a custom outdoor kitchen with refrigerator, sink with hot and cold water (connected to our drain system), a high-end Broil King gas BBQ connected to the house natural gas supply. The top is the same as the indoor kitchen: Nero Assoluto (fiammato & spazzolato) natural stone.
The Elevated Terrace

We also refurbished the Terrace above the Garden with new flagstone cover, old and new terracotta pots and planters, a mixture of flowers and evergreens, At night this space is especially beautiful with Paulmann LED garden lights illuminating the rock wall and Party Lights creating an Italian summer night dinner.
Lake Views
From here you can see the Lago di Como and the surrounding Borgo houses. It is wonderful to sit here during a summer evening absorbing the unique atmosphere of Moltrasio.
Sunbathing and Gelato
Or soak up the sun on the terrace, take a nap on the sun chairs, and be woken up by the church bells of the San Martino Church. Need a Gelato or Cuppucino? just walk out the Garden Door, climb 40 stone steps and there it is the best ice cream and cafe of Lago di Como.
